Less than 3 days until their first album ‘CHEW’ drops, Muskets singer Cheung takes time to talk to Great Wave Mag.

Yo, I’m Cheung – I do vocals and play guitar in Muskets.

  •  Talk me through the journey of the band so far?

So we released an EP called SPIN in 2015 through Venn Records, it was a great time. Through that we did countless DIY tours in basements, houses and small venues to like-minded punk and emo fans and created some incredible memories and also formed some great friendships.

  • Is the band signed?

We’re signed to No Sleep Records and have been since earlier this year. They’re a wicked label and were one of the labels we aspired to be on when we were younger, which is cool. Their new roster is also sick; Looming, Hot Mulligan, Julia Louise, Daisyhead, Pine, Aviator and Able Baker Fox to name a few, being a part of this new wave of No Sleep artists is sick, check them out.

  •  Who have you been on tour with?

We’ve been on tour with some really cool bands, our old friends; The New Tusk, Broadbay and Beachtape shared some of our favorite tours during the SPIN release. Since then we’ve done tours with Tigers Jaw, Culture Abuse, Creeper and Moose Blood and we’re up for ignoring real life by jumping in the van and travelling around, playing shows and getting fucked together and stuff, you know.

  • Chewing Gum. Will it be put on an EP or even an album?

Chewing Gum, 17 Years and You’re So Cool are all going to feature on our debut album ‘CHEW’ which is being released through No Sleep Records on 20th October.

  •  What are the bands plans for near future?

We’re heading out on a co-headline run with Wallflower on 25th to 29th October. Check out the poster below.
